GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #49 – Doctor Zeels (Smart Max)

Daily Miniature Manual

Every time I drift onto their website I’m just in awe of the miniatures that Smart Max produce. While it’s virtually impossible to pick a favourite, this one is certainly one of the more creative miniatures they offer as it comes complete with portal… With the addition of the octo-arms sticking out of it you even get the benefits from the bonus arms;as in GtB it’s all based on the miniature itself.

 Close Combat Bonus: +2

Ranged Bonus: +1

Other Miniature Bonuses:  Close Combat to Hit bonus due to more than one set of arms, Can Reroll Close combat attacks, Hat Bonus

Suggested Powers: Teleportation, Slow, Haste, Cursed, Doomed, Combat Lock

GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #48 – Grimlock (Hasbro)

Daily Miniature Manual

After having a bit of a shift round in my loft I came across this guy – ahh blessed youth! He’s even still got the heat sensitive sticker on him (this obviously isn’t a picture of my one – mine’s far more played with). It’d just be rude not to try him out in a game of GtB wouldn’t it? I had a bit of trouble deciding which form to have him in; Robot or Dinosaur? Then I remembered that they were invulnerable in dinosaur mode – so that’s got to be a winner 🙂

 Close Combat Bonus: +2 (teeth)

Ranged Bonus: +1 (Lava breath on the cartoon if I remember rightly)

Other Miniature Bonuses:  +25 Starting Good due to size, Flight (in Robot Mode only)

Suggested Powers: Monster, Nigh-Invulnerable, AAARGH, Fireball, Desolation, Good for the Skies, Good Quake

GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #47 – Tater Titan (IronDog Studios)

Daily Miniature Manual

Really just to give you some inspiration for the Project Good Easter miniature competition. This absolute classic was from 2009 and done by Irondog Studios, from a Mr Potato Head no less. Its way better than the GW one and it probably cost about half the price. Hats off to the creator! and if anyone else has got any conversions or scratch-builds they want to feature in the GtB Miniature Manual just send ’em over to It should be said that this miniature could be used with the vehicle rules in Nice: the Expansion, but it’d be far more fun to give it special powers now wouldn’t it?!

 Close Combat Bonus: +3

Ranged Bonus: +3

Other Miniature Bonuses:  +10 starting Good due to hat, can reroll ranged attacks, +55 Starting Good due to size

Suggested Powers: Monster, Goodzilla, Nigh-Invulnerable, Desolation, Good Luck, Good Quake, Study

Project Good: Friday

Those of you that have been mad enough to follow our ramblings on twitter and the like for over year may remember our very successful promo on Good Friday. Well it’s coming back – this time bigger and better. With only the insertion of a colon (now that just sounds wrong) Good Friday 6th April becomes Good: Friday, expect a number of odd promotional things, including a way to get your hands on a Project Good ‘Fish-Hand’ Apron. You’ll hear it here first (unless you hear it from someone who heard it here and then told you it was here, providing you heard that the thing that they were hearing was actually what you were going to hear on here) – anyone for an egg painting competition…?
