GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #28 – Equanimous Warrior (Rackham Miniatures)

Daily Miniature Manual

Much like me; the Rackham Equanimous Warrior is not all there. A fantasic effect is created on this miniature which makes it ideal for use with any of the GtB powers that involve the water or the air, as well as any stealthy-wispy type movement powers.

 Close Combat Bonus: +1

Ranged Bonus: +1 (pretty sure it can throw the spear)

Other Miniature Bonuses: Flight

Suggested Powers: Goodnami, Good for the Skies, Teleportation, Stealth, Spirit of Good, Levitation, Ghost, Aerodynamic, Aaargh.

GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #27 – Dragyri Death’s Device of the Ice Caste (Dark Age Games)

Daily Miniature Manual

Just look at that sword, this miniature is noting but a Good thing. While the game of GtB doesn’t (yet) have a ice blasty type power, there’s no reason you can’t use the Fireball power a pretend it’s a icy-ball. That’s just another feature of our game – and as long as your opponent agrees, you might even get away with the winter seasonal powers when using this miniature.

 Close Combat Bonus: +3

Ranged Bonus: +0

Other Miniature Bonuses:

Suggested Powers: Slow, Armour, Combat Master, (Fireball)

GtB Demo Board – Stage 1 “Dinosaurs, Bananas and Decorators Caulk”

We’ll it’s underway – the Projectgood mug has been sealed into the hillside, the banana has been added, dinosaur’s arse fixed into the board, and now filling in gaps before layer of primer. After the initial amount of terrain I was using, I realised it took to much attention away from the game, and as it was a demo table I wanted to make sure the focus was on the game itself more than the board it was being played on. Just resulted in taking out the ketchup bottle, battery, pen, and something else… (it’s like one of those kiddies memory puzzles!) Here’s the bird’s eye view then:

I rediscovered the joys of decorators caulking – if you’ve never used this on scenery before I really recommend it, nice smooth finishes on those really tricky joins – no good for a major filler though – had to resort to the traditional air drying clay for that one.

Haven’t quite decided on what to do for the board edges yet though – most likely I’ll add some sort of wooden border, but need to think of a GtB tweek to it…

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

SILO41

I spent a couple of hours this evening playing Battlefield 3 partly because Lee of The Chaps got me psyched about it again after a looooooong break from it, and partly because I’d had a loooooooong day thanks to management where I work have unrealistic expectations so I felt the need to shoot some folk.

To give you some background I’ve been playing video games since Stellar Wars on the Commodore 64 in 1984/5. I was 2 going on 3. I say this to emphasise the fact that I am no novice gamer. But nor am I the best. Sadly I am not 16 so don’t spend 10 hours a day playing video games, punctuated by furious masturbation sessions, like the current generation so my skills are not borderline preternatural. But I’ve got game. Not necessarily mad game, but game.

So when I tell you I got my arse kicked…

GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #26 – Shadows (Otherworld Miniatures)

Daily Miniature Manual

Unless science has failed me, I’m not entirely sure how a shadow can be 3D, but Otherworld Miniatures certainly have given it their best go. The perfect troop for sneaking around the GtB play field, causing Darkness, staying hidden from view, creeping up behind everyone, shouting ‘Boo!’, and then noshing on their soul!

GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #25 – 25th Anniversary Crimson Fist Miniature (GW)

Daily Miniature Manual

It’s our 25th GtB Miniature manual and was GW 25th Anniversary celebrations yesterday. So we may as well see how the 25th Anniversary limited edition Crimson Fist miniature could  be used in a game of GtB; I was going to say all that in 25 words, but it just couldn’t be done 🙂

 Close Combat Bonus: +2

Ranged Bonus: +1

Other Miniature Bonuses: Bad damage reduced by 2 due to armour.

Suggested Powers: Combat Lock, Combat Master, Expert, Disarm, Good at Everything, Local Hero, PR Dream.

GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #24 – Oni Warau (Hazgaard Editions)

Daily Miniature Manual

A proper Samurai Demon – from the Okko Comics, with a kind 0f like a Smurf-meets-HellBoy look about him. Twice the height of standard 28mm miniatures, it’ll obviously give you an advantage over the smaller guys (Stompy-stompy). Of course it was designed with some other board game in mind, but honestly, how good would he look leading your GtB forces into battle? And you can also play GtB on the board game surface too.

 Close Combat Bonus: +2

Ranged Bonus: +0

Other Miniature Bonuses: +5 Starting Good/Bad Limit- due to height.

Suggested Powers: Really Bad, Naughty, Badpire, Darkness, Ghost, Spirit of Good

The joys of technology

As you may have noticed the blog’s been a bit empty of late. For reasons best known to themselves my ISP decide to make my phone line (and broadband) disappear into the ether.

Technology is great when it works, but oh how you miss it when it’s gone.

Anyway, as it has all returned now, I shall resume the GtB Miniature Manual and continue it as soon as poss., along with some lovely new images of the GtB demo board, plus other random gibberings that pop into my head – yipee!

GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #23 – PanOceania Cutter (Corvus Belli)

Daily Miniature Manual

In my opinion this is easily one of the best looking miniatures out there, a real classic – it really looks much better when using it to play GtB – just look at the Gun! Mwahahaha! Wonderful proof of what the benefits are of choosing the right miniature when playing the game – somehow the this mini is destined for great things and your opponent knows it…

GtB: Daily Miniature Manual #22 – Time Witch (Freebooter Miniatures)

Daily Miniature Manual

Mistress of time, space, and glass tubes with sand running through them, this beautiful miniature from Freebooter is best accompanied by powers that affect movement or the rolls of the dice. With her awesome hat, and that little clockwork thingy – you could even mount it on a separate base and use it as her Remote controlled buddy in a game of GtB.
